This study guide has been developed to accompany Macroeconomics, by Olivier Blanchard. My primary objectives in the Study Guide and Tutorial are to help you learn the concepts that are presented in the textbook and to help you obtain a strong understanding of macroeconomics.
Success in your course depends on your ability to explain and apply the concepts presented in class. Specifically, you <u>must</u> be able to explain intuitively the underlying factors that determine the economic relationships included in the models. Simply memorizing the material is most likely an inefficient allocation of your time. You should, therefore, read the material carefully (and several times!), constantly review your lecture notes, and work through the material included in the Study Guide and Tutorial.
I have developed a study guide that gives you an opportunity to work through problems, to reinforce the concepts, and to apply the concepts. I have constructed the questions in such a way as to take you step by step through the models and their applications. The Study Guide and Tutorial includes approximately: 500 self-test questions; 400 review problems (many of which include multiple parts); and 600 multiple choice questions. While time constraints may prevent you from completing all of the questions, you should complete as many as possible.
