On the morning of September 5, 1972, eight Palestinian terrorists attacked the accommodation of Israeli athletes in Connollystraße in the Olympic Village in Munich. Moshe Muni Weinberg was shot dead immediately, and Yossef Romano succumbed to his bullet wounds later that day. Nine Israelis were taken hostage.
