Beschreibung:

In certain problems, the existing element in ANSYS does not meet the required characteristics. In such cases, the users need to go for user defined material property of the existing element which is explicit in nature. These user defined elements are created by the users according to their specific requirement. In this project, 1-D Nonlinear material property for Morse Potential function is generated and the same is used in a specific application. When the analysis is done with single element by using the developed material model, the load vs. displacement curve was obtained exactly matches with Morse Potential function which simulates the load vs. displacement behavior between the two carbon atoms. But, when the number of elements increases considerably, after reaching the peak load, convergence problem of solver had occurs i.e. ANSYS could not able to solve the simultaneous equations in negative slope region of the load vs. displacement curve. Using this beam element model, discrete rubber nanotube composite model is developed by using Representative Volume Element (RVE) method and the results obtained is compared with literature result.
