Will's mother was a good woman with a lot of spiritual direction which was a strong challenge to him, especially in his later years. His family moved a lot during his life and lived in many different parts of the country, which was difficult for him since he had to adjust to each new place. This meant that he never had any strong roots, which became a blessing in disguise since it meant that he could easily adapt to new places more quickly than others.
